Press Release February 29, 2008 Douglas - George Heck, CRMC President/CEO, recently received a letter of appreciation from the Sumter Regional Hospital Foundation for the donation made to their tornado disaster relief fund. In lieu of gifts at the holidays, Dr. H.P. Nair, 2007 President of the Medical Staff proposed a contribution to aid the devastated Sumter Regional Hospital. A check for $10,000 was presented to Dr. Jim Barber, 2008 Medical Staff President, at their January meeting. On March 1st, 2007, Sumter Regional Hospital was hit by an F-3 tornado. The facility was left so severely damaged as to be unusable and unsalvageable. According to Nyla Franklin, Director of the SRH Foundation, “We are moving forward daily in our redevelopment efforts. Sumter Regional East, our interim hospital facility is scheduled to begin serving patients this spring. Your generosity moves us one step closer to accomplishing our objective of restoring health care to the people we serve.” Mr. Heck state, “We appreciate the Medical Staff and their contribution to our health system. This gesture of donating gifts intended to honor the individual physician demonstrates their commitment to their profession.” |
