This goal is met through collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers within the hospital and the surrounding community. Highly trained staff assist the treatment process by ensuring accuracy and safety in preparing and dispensing medications ordered by your physician. Staff personnel include pharmacists, certified pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns, students, volunteers and clerical workers. The pharmacy has been proactive in the development of clinical services at Coffee Regional Medical Center. The Pharmacy Department provides a variety of services, which include medication order review and dispensing, drug floor stock distribution, and IV additive service. Decentralized and centralized pharmacists offer ongoing medication management information to nurses, physicians, and other ancillary health care providers. The pharmacy department is also active in Collaborative Drug Therapy Management Protocols including pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring, sedation guidelines, thrombolytic and anticoagulation therapy, nutritional therapy and pain management. To augment pharmacy clinical services, the inpatient pharmacy provides automated dispensing through the use of Pyxis® technology. |
