SAFE SEDATION
Anesthesiologists are responsible for patients’ safety, well-being, and comfort during and after surgery. These highly trained physicians may induce unconsciousness with general anesthesia or use regional or “local” anesthetics, such as nerve blocks or epidurals, in which only one part of the body is made numb, while closely monitoring patients’ vital signs and responses. They also provide sedation for pain or anxiety related to surgical, obstetrical or other medical procedures. Coffee Regional Medical Center’s full-service anesthesiology team is available around the clock every day of the year. Our anesthesiology team includes highly skilled and experienced CRNAs (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists).
