Comprehensive Surgical Care

Coffee Regional Medical Center has many highly skilled, experienced surgeons that offer a wide-range of inpatient or outpatient surgical services in their respective specialties. Our staff of general surgeons perform thousands of surgical procedures each year in addition to our specialist cases, including trauma care, appendectomy, gallbladder removal, a variety of vascular procedures, exploratory cases, biopsies, wound care and much more.

Care Before, During and After Surgery

At CRMC we have a team, perioperative services, that cares for you before, during and after your surgery. Our team provides you every you need from the time you enter the hospital, clinic or doctor’s office until you are ready to go home.

  • Pre-Admission Testing – If you will require general or regional anesthesia for your surgery, you will be scheduled to visit our Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) office on the second floor several days prior to surgery. You will speak with a nurse and/or anesthesiologist regarding your health status and will have any pre-operative tests or X-rays that have been ordered by your physician.
  • Post-Anesthesia Care – After surgery, you will recover in our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).  As you recover from anesthesia, our team of specially trained registered nurses will monitor your breathing, blood pressure, pain, and other aspects until you are ready to go home or be transferred to the appropriate nursing unit or next level of care. If you are going home the same day, you will be sent to a private room in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit for further monitoring and care before discharge.

  • Ambulatory Surgery Unit – More than 80 percent of surgeries at CRMC are performed on an ambulatory or outpatient basis. So you will be able to go home the same day. Our 11-bed outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) provides a private room for each patient for use before and after the procedure. If you have been given anesthesia you will need to bring a loved one to drive you home.
  • Operating Suites – Our facility has five operating suites, equipped with the latest technology to offer you a wide variety of specialized surgery, including minimally invasive surgeries. Minimally invasive surgeries mean a quicker recovery and less pain.
