Interventional Cardiology
Emergency & scheduled cardiac catheterization procedures with stent placement are performed in our two state-of-the-art cardiac cath labs. See below for more information.
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab)
A Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory offers complete diagnostic cardiac services. It features state-of-the-art equipment to detect the presence of blockages or other evidence of heart disease, to evaluate blood flow to the heart and how well the heart is pumping, and to help determine needed treatment. The lab is directed by Windy Tanner, RN, and is staffed by physicians, nurses, and technologists specially trained in digital cardiac imaging. CRMC’s large radiology department also provides nuclear and other diagnostic imaging useful in heart disease.
Below are brochures that detail Coronary Artery Disease as well as preparation & recovery from interventional cardiology services.
Please use these only as a guide. All questions & concerns should be discussed with your cardiologist.

Cardiology Emergency Medical Services
Many patients with cardiac emergencies are seen each year at CRMC’s high-tech emergency department, open and staffed around the clock. Coffee Regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS), widely considered a leader in the EMS industry, provides advanced life support as heart and stroke patients are rushed to the hospital, including the use of LifePak monitors that transmit images of the heart to the emergency department, allowing emergency physicians to decide if patients should be given a clot-busting drug while in transit.
