Douglas, Ga. — Coffee Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is pleased to announce leadership title changes for two highly respected leaders whose experience, dedication, and vision continue to strengthen the organization’s ability to serve the healthcare needs of the community.
Ben Floyd’s title has changed from Vice President of Operations to Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. This change recognizes Ben’s many leadership accomplishments and his successful credentialing as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Fellowship status represents the highest standard of professional achievement for healthcare executives, with only 8,697 healthcare leaders nationwide holding this distinction.
Since joining CRMC in 2005, Floyd has served in leadership roles for CRH Physician Practices/Orthopedic Surgeons of Georgia and Coffee Regional Medical Center. In 2023 and 2024, following several years as a member of both boards, he served as chairman of the Douglas Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Authority boards, where he provided successful leadership for community business and economic development efforts.
Sue Lane Hughes’ title has changed from Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer to Executive Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer, recognizing her many leadership accomplishments and long-standing commitment to patient care. Hughes joined CRMC in 1994 and has progressed through several roles, beginning as a bedside nurse and advancing to Chief Nursing Officer.
An accomplished nurse, clinical resource, and leader, Hughes currently serves on the boards of Wiregrass Technical College and the Southwest Georgia Area Health Education Center (SOWEGA-AHEC). Through these roles, she contributes her leadership skills and experience to healthcare workforce education and development. SOWEGA-AHEC is a not-for-profit organization that has supported workforce development for more than 30 years.
Both Floyd and Hughes play key roles in ensuring CRMC’s financial stability and the consistent provision of exceptional care by providing leadership input for several Service Line Triads, including Heart, Bariatrics, Orthopedics, Women’s Health, and Cancer. Coffee Regional Medical Center’s patient safety and quality recognition by Leapfrog, including its sixth consecutive “A” rating, reflects their successful team-building efforts.
“Our team is better together, and our many accomplishments are the result of the hard work of every team member,” said Vicki Lewis, President and CEO of Coffee Regional Medical Center. “I am proud and happy to be part of such an outstanding, patient-focused team.”
