This year alone, Cowen raised $3,660, bringing his five-year total to $11,952 in support of cardiac patients. We are grateful to Cowen and his family for the continued dedication and commitment to helping others facing heart disease. Proceeds from the Heart2Heart Charity Run benefit the Cardiac Rehab Scholarship Program at Coffee Regional Medical Center, which assists patients who may not otherwise be able to afford cardiac rehabilitation services.

Heart disease remains the number one cause of death in the United States, with someone experiencing a heart attack approximately every 40 seconds. Participation in cardiac rehabilitation programs has been shown to reduce the risk of future cardiac events by up to 30 percent while improving quality of life and long-term recovery. Through events like the Heart2Heart Run, Coffee Regional Medical Center continues its mission of improving community health by supporting patients on their journey to recovery.
