Dr. Justin Peterson Honored with Volunteer Clinical Faculty Award

Douglas, GA – Coffee Regional Medical Center is proud to recognize Dr. Justin Peterson for being selected by the students and confirmed by Mercer University’s School of Medicine, Alpha Omega Alpha – Georgia Delta Chapter, as the recipient of the Volunteer Clinical Faculty Award.

This prestigious award honors clinical faculty in community practices who dedicate their time and expertise to teaching and mentoring medical students and residents. Dr. Peterson’s commitment to medical education and patient care is helping shape the next generation of physicians, all while serving the women of rural South Georgia through CRH Women’s Center and Coffee Regional Medical Center.

In addition to receiving this recognition, Dr. Peterson has now been inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society, a highly competitive organization that recognizes excellence in scholarship, professionalism, and leadership in medicine. While he was not previously a member, Dr. Peterson has a distinguished history with AOA—having received the Carolyn L. Kuckein Student Research Fellowship in 2011 during medical school. Each year, this prestigious and highly selective fellowship is awarded to only fifty medical students nationwide. Dr. Peterson was first selected by Mercer University and then earned the fellowship at the national level, a testament to his dedication and academic excellence. Dr. Peterson earned his undergraduate degree at Mercer University and his medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine.
