(April 1, 2025) Douglas, GA – Coffee Regional Medical Center proudly kicked off National Donate Life Month this morning, April 1st, with our annual Donate Life flag-raising ceremony on the front lawn. This special event serves as a tribute to organ, eye, and tissue donors and a call to action for our community to consider registering as lifesaving donors.
April is National Donate Life Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the critical need for organ, eye, and tissue donation. In partnership with LifeLink® Foundation, Coffee Regional Medical Center encourages everyone to learn more about organ donation and take the simple step of registering.
Every day, thousands of people are waiting for lifesaving organ transplants. More than 3,000 Georgians and over 100,000 people nationwide are in need of a second chance at life. Tragically, approximately 17 people lose their lives each day due to the lack of available organs.
By registering as an organ, eye, and tissue donor, you can give the ultimate gift—the gift of life. Just one donor can save up to eight lives through organ donation and enhance up to 75 lives through tissue donation.
Anyone, regardless of age or health status, can register to be a donor. Signing up is simple and can be done in two ways:
